Artist Statement
In my work, I’m looking at the objects that are part of domestic life. I photograph my family’s things utilizing found light sources in an attempt to create emotional “portraits” of these objects.
I also have an interest in blurring the boundaries between painting, photography and digital media. By focusing on abstraction and color, my process feels more similar to painting than to traditional photography. Overall, I’m looking to create work that straddles many lines and is ambiguous in terms of the subject matter and the media used to create the image.
